I have a small classroom. Do my students need to sit on the floor for modelled lessons?

Some classrooms have very limited space, large desks or minimal floor space. Here are our tips if it's not possible to have students seated on the floor due to your space:

• make sure you can still see everyone and be easily able to scan students to check for understanding
• ensure whatever seating you use is differentiated
• have no extraneous load on student desks eg. books, bulky pencil cases
